International Youth Ice Climbing Camp. Dolomites. 9-13 February, 2017

This ice climbing event will take place in the Dolomites a Unesco World Heritage Site since 2009. We will stay in the Falzarego Pass area, surrounded by the stunning view of the Tofane and Lagazuoi peak and the Fanes range.

dolomites_ice3_youthIn the three days when we will climb we will visit three different sites:

  •  Armentarola falls: below the Fanes range in the Lagazuoi valley, on the way from Capanna Alpina to Scotoni Hut and the above peak with the same name.
  •  Colfosco falls: in Val Badia, above Colfosco village, they are situated at the bottom of the north side of the Sella range.
  •  Sottoguda falls: nearby Malga Ciapela, at the base of Marmolada.

The Sottoguda gorge it’s a 2 km canyon dug by the Pettorina creek.

During winter time, the canyon becomes a main attraction for ice climbing lovers: its numerous falls at the side of the road are unique and offer several climbing routes.

The event’s goal is to learn the basic ice climbing techniques starting from the easiest falls, in a friendly atmosphere of sharing and friendship with boys and girls from all over the world.
